ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5.

Counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners have already submitted a representation to respondent No.2 but no action has been taken so far. Counsel for the petitioners has further submitted that at this stage a direction be issued to respondent No.2 to dispose of the representation filed by the petitioners (Annexure P1) in accordance with law.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib to look into the grievance of the petitioner and dispose of the representation after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners. It is made clear that the respondent No.2 will, on conclusion of the enquiry, proceed further in the light of judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court "Lalita Kumari vs Govt. of U.P. and others", 2013(4) RCR (Criminal) 979.
