This writ petition is filed seeking direction in the nature of mandamus to respondents to release the land of the petitioner which was acquired vide notification No.8/20/88-5/TE(1)/1469-73 dated 24.03.1994. In the writ petition itself, the petitioner has clearly admitted that possession is taken and in spite of that, the land is not used for any other project. Hence, after 26 years, the petitioners have come with this writ petition seeking release of the land.
