Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that there is property dispute between the petitioner and private respondents No. 4 to 6, due to which he is apprehending danger to his life and liberty. A representation to this effect was made to Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar, copy of which has been placed on file as Annexure P-1 but no action was taken in this regard.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar to verify the allegations levelled by the petitioner relating to threat to his life and liberty at the hands of private respondents and take appropriate action in accordance with law. However, it is made clear that nothing contained in this order and representation shall be read as providing any relief to the petitioner to seek raise resolution of his property dispute by the police and this order will have no effect on the any civil, criminal or other proceedings instituted/initiated/pending against them.
