**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) This petition has been filed by the petitioners for issuance of directions to respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect their life and liberty at the hands of the subordinate police staff allegedly issuing threats to the petitioners to implicate them in a false case.
No one has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioners. Even on the last date, no one had appeared on their behalf. Learned State counsel has produced copy of the FIR No. 476 dated 31.10.2018 registered against petitioners No. 3 and 4 under Section 420, 120-B IPC at Police Station City Barnala, District Barnala. In the status report dated 22.10.2018, it has been pointed out that petitioner No. 3-Harjit Singh and petitioner No. 4-Jagdev Singh were involved in cheating one Sadhu Singh of an amount of Rs. 43.00 lacs regarding which there is a CD on record. It has been further stated that Harjit Singh is involved in FIR No. 223 dated 18.12.2015 registered under Sections 420, 341 IPC at GURPREET SINGH 2019.07.04 16:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh Police Station Nathana, FIR No. 10 dated 7.3.2009 registered under Sections
CRM-M No. 45419 of 2018 -2420, 341 IPC at Police Station Walia Wali, District Bathinda and FIR No. 64 dated 16.6.2009 registered under Sections 325, 324, 447, 148, 149 IPC at Police Station Bhikhi, District Mansa.
Taking into consideration the fact that various criminal cases stand registered against the petitioners, the petitioners are not entitled to grant of any indulgence in the present petition.
Hence, the petition is dismissed.
