ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner herein, inter alia, seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents for early decision of Petition No. 638 dated 26.08.2020 (Annexure P-1) filed by petitionerSenior Citizen under Section 22(2) read with Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 before the Maintenance Tribunal.

Ordinarily this Court would not have interfered merely because of the delay in decision on the pending proceedings before the Tribunal below as due to Covid-19 not only administrative offices but even the quasi judicial offices/courts were working under certain restrictions.

Be that as it may, being a matter of senior citizen, the writ petition is disposed of with an expectation that the Tribunal below will decide the petition pending before it, as expeditiously as possible, without granting any unnecessary adjournments.
