The petitioner through the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India is seeking protection of her life and liberty.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner has lodged FIR No. 113 dated 18.10.2016 under Sections 498-A and 406 IPC at Police Station Sadar, Shri Muktsar Sahib against her in-laws and they are pressurizing the petitioner to enter into a compromise and withdraw the FIR. There is no male member in the family and she apprehends threat to her life and liberty at the hands of her in-laws.

She has filed representations dated 11.10.2022 and 14.11.2022 before the SSP and Deputy Commissioner, Sri Muktsar PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.05.10 19:06 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Mr. Shiva Khurmi, AAG, Punjab, who on advance notice is present in Court, assures the Court that jurisdictional authorities would look into representation dated 11.10.2022 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioner and do the needful.

State is duty bound to protect life and liberty of its citizens. This Court is sanguine of the fact that jurisdictional police authorities would look into representation dated 11.10.2022 of the petitioner and do the needful.
