IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH
Criminal Misc. No. M-4619 of 2015 Date of decision : April 28, 2015 Manpreet Singh ....Petitioner versus State of Punjab ....Respondent Coram:
Hon'ble Mr. Justice Fateh Deep Singh Present :
Mr. AK Khungar, Advocate, for the petitioner Mr. C.S.Brar, DAG, Punjab Fateh Deep Singh, J. (Oral) The allegations against the petitioner in this regular bail application are that on 26.8.2014, he was found in conscious possession of 2 kgs 600 gms. of opium. The lone contention raised by petitioner's counsel is over the weight of the polythene in which alleged contraband was found to be wrapped has never been deducted.
Considering these submissions without adverting on the merits, such a question is the matter of trial. In view of the fact that the alleged contraband found in possession of the petitioner falls in the category of commercial quantity, he does not deserve the concession of bail and the present petition thus, stands dismissed.
