IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH
CWP-13655-2022 DATE OF DECISION: 25.07.2022 SUSHMA ... Petitioner(s)
Versus
THE EDUCATIONAL TRIBUNAL FOR PRIVATELY MANAGED INSTITUTIONS AND ORS.
... Respondent(s) CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANUPINDER SINGH GREWAL
Present:
Mr. B.K. Kaushik, Advocate for the petitioner. **** ANUPINDER SINGH GREWAL, J. (ORAL) The petitioner has challenged the orders whereby the petitioner has been relieved from service.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had been appointed as a Teacher in the respondent college. She had worked for over 3 years and without any justifiable basis she has been relieved from service. He also contends that the petitioner had been appointed for a period of one year but reappointed thereafter periodically just to defeat her claim for continuity in service.
Heard.
The petitioner was appointed on contract basis at a consolidated salary. She has been relieved from service after the end of the contractual period. The respondent school is a fully self financed institution. It is not getting any grant-in-aid from the government. CWP-13655-2022 In view of the above especially when the petitioner is a contractual employee, I do not find any infirmity in reliving her from service at the end of the contractual period.
The petition stands dismissed.
