Through the instant petition, as filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has sought issuance of directions to the official respondents, to ensure protection of his life and liberty as well as issuance of direction for conducting fair and impartial enquiry in the complaint moved by respondent No.5 against him. He further prayed for issuance of direction to the official respondents to decide his representation bearing No.860PGD (Annexure P/5).

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that there is a matrimonial dispute between the petitioner and respondent No.5 and the petitioner has submitted a representation bearing No.860PGD before the DGP, Punjab, copy of which is placed on record as Annexure P-5, but no action has been taken on his representation till date. He further submits that at this stage, he would be satisfied if his representation bearing No.860PGD be decided in a time bound manner.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the official respondents i.e. respondent Nos. 2 to 4 to decide the representation bearing No.860PGD (Annexure P-5) of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today and grant him protection, if any threat to his lives and liberty is perceived. 6.
