This is second petition for grant of regular bail, pending trial, in a criminal case arising out of FIR No. 306 dated 28.11.2018, registered under Section 452, 323, 324, 326, 307, 342 and 120-B IPC and Section 25 & 27 of the Arms Act, 1959, at Police Station Division No. 6, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar.

Mr. Navkiran Singh, Advocate, learned counsel representing the first informant/injured, states that in view of the order passed by the co-ordiante Bench in Amarjit Singh v. State of Punjab (Criminal Misc. No. M-25859 of 2021) on 19.07.2021, the trial of the case is being taken up on day-to-day basis and is likely to be concluded within a period of this month.

Mr. Bhupender Beniwal, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, has brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner does not have clean antecedents as he is facing prosecution in as many as 22 cases. He has further informed the Court that a pistol and a dattar have been found from the possession of the petitioner.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, it would not be appropriate for the Court to consider the request for granting regular bail to the petitioner, particularly in view of an order passed by the co-ordinate Bench on 19.07.2021.
