(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.2 has performed marriage with petitioner No.1 against the wishes of her parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their instance. Notice of motion.

Mr. Rajeev Vij, APP, U.T. Chandigarh, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that a representation dated 07.05.2019 was made to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh (Annexure P6), seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter. Heard.

CRM-M No.21207 of 2019 marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P6) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in the circumstances.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh - respondent No.2 is further directed to convene a meeting between the petitioners and the parents of petitioner No.2, if so required. It is further directed that petitioner No.2 will submit the complete address of her parents along with the mobile phone numbers to enable respondent No.2, to comply with the directions.
