Prayer in the present petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus with a prayer to produce the detenue Kuldeep Kaur wife of petitioner, who is in illegal custody of respondents No.4 and 5 and appoint a Warrant Officer to search the detenue, namely, Kuldeep Kaur and produce her before this Court.

The petitioner and the alleged detenue, namely, Kuldeep Kaur are present in person in pursuance to the order dated 08.04.2026 passed by this Court. Nand Singh, father of the detenue is also present in Court. The Court has interacted with all of them. The petitioner has submitted that detenue Kuldeep Kaur is his legally wedded wife, however, Kuldeep Kaur has submitted before this Court that she was forcibly married with the petitioner. She submits that she is happily living with her parents. She has emphatically denied to go with the petitioner and has submitted that she is 30 years old and being the age of majority, she voluntarily wants to SHARMILA DEVI 2026.04.11 04:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

In view of the statements made above, the present petition is disposed of. The detenue, namely, Kuldeep Kaur is allowed to remain with her parents as desired by her. However, the petitioner would be at liberty to pursue his remedy for the redressal of his grievance, if any, in accordance with law.
