RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C., petitionerIkram, has prayed for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 221 dated 25.04.2018 registered under Sections 406 and 420 IPC, Police Station Sadar Sonepat, District Sonepat.
According to the prosecution, the petitioner embezzled the panchayat fund for around ` 35 lakhs by forging the signatures of BDPO. Learned counsel inter alia contends that the petitioner is in custody since 31.05.2018. Challan has already been presented in this case. Framing of charge and conclusion of trial may take a long time. No useful purpose would be served by detaining him in jail. On the other hand, learned State counsel vehemently opposed the above submission of learned counsel for the petitioner.
