The petitioners through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to Respondent No.3 and 4 to decide their representation dated 27.02.2026 to conduct ossification test of Petitioner No.2.

The petitioners claim themselves to be married. On 05.12.2025 petitioner No.2 left her parental home to stay with petitioner No. 1 after getting married. They preferred CRWP-2338-2026 before this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty which was allowed vide order dated 27.02.2026. As per official records, petitioner No.2 is minor but no authentic proof of her birth exists as she was found abandoned and was later taken into custody by one Mewa Singh who now claims himself to be her father. CWP-11143-2026 -2BNS, 2023 came to be registered by Mewa Singh against petitioner No.1. He filed before this Court multiple writ petitions including habeas corpus and this Court directed petitioner No.2 to reside in protection home until she attains age of majority.

As per petitioners, petitioner No.2 should be subjected to medical examination and ossification test. She at present is pregnant and her condition demands special care.

Learned State counsel submits that State has no objection to conduct petitioner No.2's ossification test provided petitioners bear cost of test.

Learned counsel for the petitioners happily agrees to the proposal of the State Counsel.

The petition stands disposed of with a request to Principal, Government Medical College, Amritsar to constitute a Board of Doctors to conduct petitioner No.2's ossification test. Let the needful be done within four weeks from today.
