**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Through this petition, the petitioner seeks grant of regular bail in case bearing FIR No.257 dated 09.11.2019 under Sections 21 and 61 of the NDPS Act and Sections 379, 411 and 473 IPC (added later on), registered at Police Station Civil Lines, District Bathinda. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the alleged recovery effected from the petitioner is marginally above the commercial quantity, yet the petitioner is in custody since 09.11.2019; that the FIR was registered on 09.11.2019; that the charges were framed on 01.03.2021 and that out of total 33 prosecution witnesses, only 13 have been examined, till date. He further submits that as far as other cases registered and/or pending against the petitioner are concerned, he is on bail in the said cases.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner confines his arguments that the Court below be directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at the earliest.

CRM-M-27384-2021 (O&M) -2Learned State counsel has no objection in allowing the aforesaid limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner. In view of the above and without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same, at the earliest, as per law.
