Present:

Mr. Ajay Kumar, Advocate for the petitioners. PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) By way of present petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners are seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6.

Counsel for the petitioners has produced marriage photographs of present petitioners today in Court. The same are taken on record. Notice of motion.

Mr. Tarun Aggarwal, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

As per the petitioners, they have married on 03.05.2024 against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 6, who happen to be the family members/ Deepak Kumar 2024.05.07 14:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-4152-2024 relatives of petitioner No.1 i.e. Komalbir Kaur. Both the petitioners have claimed themselves to be major relying upon their Aadhar Cards indicating that petitioner No.1 is 19.08.1999 born and petitioner No.2 is 05.05.1995 born. Without commenting on the legality and validity of the marriage, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.2 (Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, District Amritsar) to look into the representation dated 04.05.2024 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioners.

Keeping in view the fact that both the petitioners claim to have married, I think that if possible, respondent No.2 may call a meeting of the petitioners as well as respondents No.4 to 6 in his presence, so that the parties get rid off their ill feelings and live amicably. The petition stands disposed off.
