The petitioner has preferred this writ petition precisely for a limited prayer that his revision petition arising out of order dated 05.12.2022 passed by the Director General of Police, Haryana, Panchkula is pending before the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Haryana and the same be ordered to be decided at the earliest. [2].

The petitioner was chargesheeted and a departmental enquiry was held. The finding recorded by the Enquiry Officer resulted in exoneration of the petitioner from the charges. Those findings were accepted by the competent authority. [3].

After 2 years and 4 months, the appellate authority i.e. the Inspector General of Police, Hisar Range, Hisar issued a disagreement note-cum-show cause notice. The order of dismissal was assailed in CWP No.2998 of 2022. The said writ petition was disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to file statutory appeal before the Director General of Police. Resultantly, an appeal was preferred before the Director General of Police, Haryana. The order of dismissal was diluted and the punishment was reduced to stoppage of four annual increments with permanent effect vide order dated 05.12.2022. It was also held that the petitioner would not be entitled for any financial benefits on the principle of 'no work no pay'. [5].

Against the aforesaid, the revision petition is pending since 28.12.2022 before the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Haryana.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.1 to decide the pending revision petition after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner in accordance with law, preferably within a period one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
