Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 seeking quashing of FIR No. 95 dated 3.10.2005 under Section 406, 420, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station Morinda, Ropar and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that petitioner had left for Dubai in the year 2003 and has not visited India thereafter. FIR in question was registered in the year 2005 and petitioner did not receive any summons in this regard. Co-accused of the petitioner, who had faced the trial, have since been acquitted by the Trial Court vide order dated 15.1.2011 (Annexure P-5). Petitioner is ready to face the trial. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he may be permitted to withdraw the petition to enable the petitioner to take up all the GURPREET SINGH 2015.02.21 10:10 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh
