(Oral) The present petition has been filed for seeking directions for an expeditious and time-bound disposal of case bearing FIR No.134 dated 10.09.2019 registered under Sections 307, 353, 333, 186, 332, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Sadar Ludhiana, District Ludhiana in case titled as "State of Punjab Vs. Jaspreet Singh" pending adjudication in the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana. 2.

After noticing that despite the charge having been framed on 24.08.2022, no evidence has been recorded even though a period of 03 and a half years has elapsed since then. A report was accordingly called for from the Sessions Judge, Ludhiana as well as the Trial Court. 3.

Pursuant thereto, report dated 06.05.2026 of the District & Sessions Judge, Ludhiana and report dated 24.04.2026 as well as supplementary report 13.05.2026 of the Additional District & Sessions Judge, Ludhiana have been received.

Although the reasons assigned by the Court appear to be prima facie unsatisfactory, however, it is seen that after the receipt of the order SUMIT SINGH GUSAIN 2026.05.19 19:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

In view of the above, counsel for the petitioner does not press the instant petition at this stage.

Disposed of as not pressed.

The District & Sessions Judge, Ludhiana is however, requested to take note of all such matters where recording of the evidence has not commenced despite charges having been framed for a period of 01 year and above.

The Trial Court is further requested to take appropriate steps to ensure that the trial proceedings are not scuttled. 9.
