Present petition has been filed directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner, which is endangered at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6, as the petitioner is living in live-in relationship with Joginder Singh against the wishes of private respondents. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is married but her husband used to beat her on petty issues. She further submits that the petitioner is major and living in live-in-relationship with one Joginder Singh and has sought protection of her life and liberty. She apprehend danger from the private respondents. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 08.04.2026 (Annexure P-2) to respondent No.2. 3.

Notice of motion to respondents no.1 to 3-State only. 4.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Raj Karan Singh, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Sr. Superintendent of Police, Batala to decide SONIA BURA 2026.04.16 10:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-4144-2026 -2the representation dated 08.04.2026 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioner and grant her protection, if any threat to her life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by her. This order would not be understood having expressed any opinion whatsoever by this Court on the validity of her live-in relationship.
