******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Learned State counsel submits that the dispute between the parties pertains to the land qua which litigation is pending in civil Court, as such, police cannot interfere when the matter is sub-judice. So far as the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members is concerned, appropriate legal action will be taken as and when so required. In view of submission of learned State counsel but without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to look into the aspect of threat to the life and liberty of petitioner and her family members, verify the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law as and when so required.

However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioner or her family members from any action taken in any civil, criminal or other proceedings initiated/pending against them in accordance with law. ( SURINDER GUPTA ) August 28, 2019.
