For the reasons recorded in the application, which is supported by an affidavit, the same is allowed and the matter is taken up for hearing today itself.

Main case Prayer is for grant of regular bail in case FIR No.56 dated 23.05.2021 under Sections 20,21,22 of NDPS Act registered at P.S Barnala, District Barnala.

FIR was lodged on the basis of secret information. The petitioner and co-accused Banso Kaur were apprehended. From the petitioner, 125 grams of ganja was recovered whereas co-accused Banso Kaur was found in possession of 750 intoxicating tablets containing Tramadol Hydrochloride. CRM-M-27714 of 2021 #2# small quantity. The petitioner is involved in three other cases with one case under the Excise Act and two other cases being registered under the NDPS Act. Investigation is complete and challan has been filed. The petitioner has been in custody since 23.05.2021.

Without commenting anything on the merits of the case and also bearing in mind the quantity of contraband coupled with the fact that the trial is not likely to be concluded in near future, in my opinion, no useful purpose will be served by detaining the petitioner behind bars any further. The petition, as such, is accepted. The petitioner Gelo Kaur @ Golo Kaur is ordered to be released on bail on her furnishing bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of learned trial Court/Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate concerned.
