*** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the petition is for issuance of necessary directions to respondents No.2 to 5 to provide adequate security to the petitioner as well as his family members as the petitioner is having serious threat to his life and liberty. 2.
While issuing notice of motion vide order dated 23.10.2018, learned State counsel was directed to submit status report on the next date of hearing. 3.
Apropos, reply dated 06.12.2018 along with Annexure R-1/T and R2 has been filed, relevant portion of which reads as under: "Petitioner moved representation Annexure P-1 and P2 (Annexed by petitioner) to the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala. Both the aforesaid representations were marked to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division, Sultanpur Lodhi, who after thorough inquiry submitted his report dated 06.07.2018 to the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala which were filed by him. Even the representations of the petitioner were also enquired into by Superintendent of Police Head Quarters, Kapurthala who submitted his report dated 18.07.2018 to the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala. On the basis of said report, Sr. Superintendent of Police Kapurthala has sent the intimation to the Inspector General of Police Jalandhar Range dated 21.09.2018 with recommendation to consign the representation to record. A copy of the same is annexed as Annexure R-1."

CRM-M-46774-2018 (O&M) 3.1 For ready reference, relevant portion of Annexure R-1 is reproduced hereinbelow:
"XXX XXX XXX It was revealed from the inquiry that no fact regarding participation in any anti terrorist group by complainant Amrit Sahota, giving threats to him by any terrorist/non terrorist group and causing attack to him and his family members, has come to notice. As per conditions of order No. 18985-19013/DDSB-5 dated 01.06.2018 issued regarding giving security to fear person, by Hon'ble Addl. Director General of Police Security Punjab Chandigarh, the complainant does not fall under this order. Hence it is not recommended to provide security to complainant Amrit Sahota on government base. SHO PS Sultanpur Lodhi has been directed that the protection of complainant and his family members be confirmed by sending patrolling party towards his house. So there is no need to take any action on this complaint. It is recommended to consign the complaint record room. Recommendation: It is recommended to consign the complaint record after agreeing with the inquiry report of Inquiry officer by the undersigned." 4.
In view of the above said report, no further proceedings are warranted.
