(ORAL) Petitioners have approached this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, directing respondents No.1 to 5 to release the alleged detenue Jagdish Singh son of Bikkar Singh from the illegal custody of respondents No.6 and 7.

Mr. Ranvir Singh Mander, Advocate, has entered appearance on behalf of respondents No.6 and 7 and filed his power of attorney, which is taken on record.

Learned State counsel has filed the affidavit of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Industrial Area-A, Ludhiana, which is taken on record.

In compliance of order dated 07.05.2024, report of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ludhiana, who had been directed by this Court vide the above said order to interact with the alleged detenue and get his statement recorded, has been received and perused. CRWP-4193-2024 -25.

As per the report received, detenue Jagdish Singh had suffered a statement to the effect that he is living with his son Kulvir Singh (respondent No.6 herein) out of his free will, voluntarily and without any pressure.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in the instant petition as the alleged detenue does not wish to accompany the petitioners.

The instant petition stands dismissed.
