(ORAL) The petitioners have preferred this writ petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to approve the joint time table on Faridkot to Ferozpur via Golewala route.

The petitioners are holders of a valid stage carriage permit on Faridkot to Ferozpur via Golewala route. The aforesaid joint permit is valid up to 10.03.2027. Grievance of the petitioners is that in the absence of approval of regular joint time table, the bus of the petitioners is not allowed to be plied. The petitioners cannot operate their fleet on the aforesaid route despite the fact that they have deposited the requisite fee prescribed by the Government at the rate of POONAM BHATT 2023.05.11 17:39 I attest the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

2023:PHHC:068060 CWP No.10143 of 2023 -2Rs.2,750/- per kilometer and have also invested huge amounts towards purchase of bus for operation of the permit. Precisely for the grievance in question, the petitioners have also served a legal notice dated 12.09.2022 upon the respondent.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied in case their legal notice dated 12.09.2022 is ordered to be decided in accordance with law in a time bound manner.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sanjeev Soni, Addl. A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and submits that the legal notice of the petitioners dated 12.09.2022 shall be considered and decided by the competent authority in accordance with law preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Disposed of.
