Instant writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to decide the application dated 29.11.2022, Annexure P-3, submitted by the petitioner, for renewal of firearm license. 2.

A short reply by way of affidavit dated 12.09.2024 of Additional District Magistrate, Ludhiana, has been filed on behalf of respondents No.2, 3, and 5, which is taken on record.

By referring to the affidavit, State counsel submits that license has been renewed on 06.09.2024, vide Annexure R-1, w.e.f., 17.10.2022 to 18.10.2027.

In view of above development, counsel for the petitioner submits that the petition has become infructuous.
