[1] The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

[2] The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty, pleading that petitioner Nos.1 and 2 have performed marriage against the wishes of parents and family members of petitioner No.1 and there is threat to their life and liberty. [3] Notice of motion.

[4] Ms. Rashmi Attri, AAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 3.

CRWP No. 5900 of 2020 -2- [5] Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted a representation dated 7.8.2020 (Annexure P8) to the Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar seeking necessary protection, but no action has been taken so far in the matter. [6] Without examining the question of validity of marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar to look into the grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation and take appropriate action, if so warranted.
