The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 /227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to assess the threat perception to his life & liberty and provide round-the-clock security cover of armed police personnels at his residential and business premises. He is further seeking direction to respondents to upgrade his existing security arrangement and to conduct time-bound investigation in FIR No. 157 dated 18.08.2025 under sections 308 (4) and 351(3) of BNS, 2023 registered at police station Sadar Patti, District Tarn Taran, Punjab. 2.

CWP-11757-2026 -2ranges between Rs.8 to 10 crores and he is owner of substantial agricultural and residential lands. He is receiving threats to his life along with ransom demands by criminal Prabhdeep Singh @ Prabh Desuwal since 02.08.2025. He lodged FIR No. 157 dated 18.08.2025 under sections 308(4) and 351 (3) of BNS, 2023 at Police Station Sadar Patti, District Tarn Taran, Punjab. Respondent-Authorities has deployed a single Home Guard at his residence. He has submitted a detailed representation dated 09.03.2026 seeking protection of life and liberty. 3.

Learned State counsel submits that the competent committee would re-assess threat perception to petitioner and his family members. An appropriate decision would be taken within four weeks from today. The petitioner would be heard by the committee. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.
