The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in complaint case No.26 dated 21.1.2016 titled as "State Bank of Patiala Vs. Parshotam Lal" filed for the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, pending in the Court of Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Notice of motion has been issued in this case. Mr. Sumit Narang, learned Advocate has appeared on behalf of respondent No.1 and Ms. Monika Jalota, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab has appeared on behalf of respondent No.2-State and contested this petition.
I have heard learned counsel for the parties and learned State counsel and have gone through the record.

Cr. Misc. No.M-47179 of 2018 [2] The present petitioner absented from the Court proceedings and his non-bailable warrants were issued.
In compliance with the interim order passed by this Court on 26.10.2018, he has surrendered before the trial Court and has been released on interim bail. He has also deposited the amount of `5,000/- towards the expenses of the witnesses. The petitioner has only to face the trial. The trial of the case is likely to take time. No useful purpose will be served by sending the petitioner to custody.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case; I find merit in this petition and the same is allowed. The interim order dated 26.10.2018 passed by this Court granting interim bail to the petitioner is made absolute.
