The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case FIR No.61 dated 16.5.2017 registered for the offences under Sections 394, 341 and 34 IPC at Police Station Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur.

Notice of motion has been issued.

Mr. Sidakmeet S. Sandhu, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent-State and contested this petition.

Cr. Misc. No.M-22108 of 2019 [2] In the present case earlier the petitioner was on regular bail. He absconded from the Court proceedings on 10.5.2018 and he was again arrested after more than 9 months on 26.2.2019. He, in the meantime, was also declared as proclaimed offender.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, I find that if the petitioner is now released on bail, there is every chance of his absconding again. There is no ground to grant him the benefit of bail.

Therefore, finding no merit in this petition, the same is dismissed.
