NARESH KUMAR SANGHI, J (Oral) Prayer in this petition, filed under Section 482, Cr.P.C., is for the issuance of directions to respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to protect lives and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent Nos. 4 to 8.

The petitioners contend that they have solemnized

their marriage. They further submit that respondent Nos. 4 to 8 are not accepting their marriage and adamant to separate them from each other by resorting to illegal means. They further submit that in view of the imminent danger to their lives and liberty, they have already moved a representation (Annexure P-4) before respondent No. 2/Commissioner of Police, District Amritsar.

Mr. Gursimran Singh Bhatia, learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 4 to 8, after taking instructions from respondent Nos. 4 and 5, who are present in person in the Court, submits that the parents of petitioner No. 1 have no objection if the relief sought for in the present petition, is granted to the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the State on instructions from HC Harpal Singh of Police Station, Chatiwind, District Amritsar, submits that the statement of petitioner No. 1, who is present in the Court, has been recorded under Section 161, Cr.P.C., in the criminal case lodged by her father.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties and keeping in view the seriousness of the matter but without going

into the validity of the marriage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2/Commissioner of Police, District Amritsar, to take action as warranted by law on the representation moved by the petitioners and in the meantime to issue necessary orders to ensure that no harm is caused to the lives and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent Nos. 4 to 8.
