RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Case has been taken up for hearing through video-conferencing due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Through this writ petition under Articles 226 of the Constitution of India prayer has been made for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing impugned action of the respondents in making recovery/adjustment of amounts at the rate of `12.50/- per quintal on account of transportation charges of paddy shifted against release orders for crop year 2017-18.

Mr. T.P.S. Chawla, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2 - State, Mr. Gurinder Singh, Advocate, on behalf of respondent No.3, Ms. Deepali Puri, Advocate, on behalf of respondents No.4, 6, 7, 11 and 12 and Mr. Somesh Gupta, Advocate, on behalf of respondents No.8 and 13.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the purpose would be achieved if respondents No.2 - Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab and respondent No.3 - General Manager, Food Corporation of India, Chandigarh, are directed to decide representation (Annexure P-8) in a time-bound manner.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and after perusing the paper-book, but without commenting on merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to consider and decide representation (Annexure P-8) after hearing the petitioners and by passing a speaking order within a period of two months from today.
