(Oral) The allegations against the petitioner in this second regular bail petition under section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure are that on 24.5.2014, he was found in illegal possession of 50 grams Alprozolam, a non-commercial quantity and is in custody since 24.5.2014, which could not be controverted on behalf of the State.

Having regard to the fact that the petitioner is in custody since 24.5.2014 and the trial is not likely to be concluded in near future and no purpose will be served by detaining the petitioner in jail, the instant bail petition is allowed. Bail to the satisfaction of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate, Jalandhar.
