(ORAL) Instant petition under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed for grant of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.123 dated 23.08.2014 registered under Sections 408/420/467/468/471/34 IPC at Police Station Majitha, District Amritsar.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner vehemently contended that he is not at all involved in the case and all the allegations are against alleged co-accused Satnam Singh, who was working as a Secretary Salesman in the Cooperative Society. -2CRM-M-6418 of 2015 petitioner is of connivance with the officials of the Society and others in the commission of fraud of ` 1,49,28,508.

I have considered the contentions raised by learned counsel for the petitioner.

There are number of entries which have been forged and fabricated by various persons, as a result of which poor farmers who are members of the Cooperative Society have been fleeced. Admittedly, there are serious allegations with regard to embezzlement of the amount from number of account-holders and to unearth this scam custodial interrogation of the petitioner is necessary. In view of the gravity of offence, no ground for grant of concession of pre-arrest is made out.

Dismissed.

However, anything observed hereinabove shall not be treated as an expression on the merits of the case.
