1. The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.6 and 7.

2. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without commenting anything as regards the merits of the assertions made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Tarn Taran, to get the representation dated 03.05.2023 (Annexure P-2) examined qua the limited extent of the alleged threat perception of the petitioners in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon. 3. A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 03.05.2023 (Annexure P-2) be sent to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Tarn Taran, for necessary compliance.

4. It is however, clarified that the aforesaid order is not to be construed as any kind of immunity in case the petitioners have committed any wrong. Further, in case any FIR is registered, the proceedings in respect of the same shall continue as per the normal course.
