******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 439 Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 138 dated 31.10.2015 registered for the offence punishable under Section 22 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Police Station Dugri Ludhiana City, District Ludhiana.
Learned State counsel submits that next date fixed before the trial Court is 17.05.2017 for recording of statements of remaining prosecution witnesses. He further submits that five out of ten witnesses have already been examined. It has also been submitted that trial Court has already expedited trial of the case.
In view of above, the instant petition is disposed of with direction to the trial Court to expedite trial of the case and dispose of the same at the earliest, preferably within a period of four months.
