The petitioner prays for grant of regular bail in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 178 dated 22.05.2018, registered under Section 309, 302, 232 and 34 IPC at Police Station Shanewal, District Ludhiana. As per the case of the prosecution, two accused including the petitioner, in order to snatch mobile phone, injured the deceased who later on died. Both the accused alleged to have fled away, however, later on named and identified by the brother of the deceased who was accompanying the deceased at the time of occurrence.

Mr. Sofat has pointed out that there are two more cases of snatching against the petitioner. He has further pointed out that the prosecution has already recorded the deposition of as many as ten witnesses, out of 16 proposed to be examined.
