(ORAL) Case is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus seeking appointment of Warrant Officer for the release of detenue, namely, Jaspreet Kaur, aged about 16 years from the illegal detention of respondents No. 4 to 9.

Mr. Pawan Attri, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of respondents N6. 4 to 6 filed his power of attorney through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on the complaint of the petitioner, FIR No. 376 dated 10.7.2020 under Section 363 and 366-A IPC was registered at Police Station Pehowa and thereafter the GURPREET SINGH 2020.08.27 15:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chadigarh

CRWP No. 5949 of 2020 -2detenue was recovered from respondent No. 9-Gurpej Singh and was sent to Child Welfare Committee, Kurukshetra from where her custody was handed over to Manjit Kaur-petitioner, who is her aunt, on 24.8.2020. It is further submitted that the parents of the detenue is residing in Canada. Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Gurdev Singh, has pointed out that FIR No. 376 dated 10.7.2020 now stands cancelled on the statement of the detenue. He has also confirmed that detenue has been handed over to the petitioner.

Since the detenue is now back to her aunt i.e. the petitioner, no further order is required to be passed.

The petition stands disposed of.
