Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner is seeking promotion from the date his juniors have been promoted.
Learned counsel for the petitioner limits his prayer in the present writ petition and states that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.1 to decide his legal notice dated 15.06.2021 (Annexure P-5) in a time-bound manner. Notice of motion.
Mr. Sanjeev Soni, Advocate, who has joined the session through video conferencing, accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.1. Since the case is not being decided on merits, the service of notices upon respondent Nos.2 to 5 is dispensed with.

CWP-13262-2021 (O&M) -2In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.1 - Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar - to take a decision on the legal notice dated 15.06.2021 (Annexure P-5) expeditiously, in accordance with law, and in any case within a period two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case the claim of the petitioner finds favour with respondent No.1, the petitioner be given the due benefit within a period of two months thereafter.
