(ORAL) After arguing for a while, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw the instant petition while submitting that the petitioners would be moving a fresh representation to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, District Amritsar exclusively seeking the relief qua the protection of their lives and liberty therein and he prays that the said respondent be directed to take appropriate action on the same within some specific time frame. Ms. Samina Dhir, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4 in this case, in pursuance of the copies of this petition having been sent to the respondent-State in advance, has no objection to the afore-said submission/prayer of learned counsel for the petitioners. In view of the above-discussed facts and circumstances, the petition in hand stands dismissed for having been withdrawn with the observations that in case, both the petitioners move any fresh representation to respondent No.3 exclusively praying therein for the protection of their lives and liberty only, then the said respondent shall look into the same so far as it would relate to their threat perception qua their lives and liberty and in case, the petitioners would be found to be genuinely deserving the protection of their lives and liberty, then he would take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law, in the given set of facts and circumstances of the matter, preferably within a period of one week.
