(ORAL) Short affidavit of Lalit Kumar Kohli, PPS, Deputy Superintendent Central Jail Jalandhar at Kapurthala, on behalf of the State has been filed in Court and the same is taken on record. According to this affidavit, the petitioner needs medical treatment by specialist to take care of his condition. It is also submitted by learned State counsel that although the petitioner is unwell, he does not have a satisfactory past history. He escaped from the jail twice; once while in police custody and secondly while in judicial custody. He is involved in three other cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, for which he is facing trial.

Regarding stage of the trial, it is submitted that out of twelve prosecution witnesses, eight witnesses have already been examined and next date of hearing before the trial Court is 01.02.2018. Keeping in view the entire conspectus of facts, I deem it appropriate to order release of the petitioner on interim bail for a period of one month subject to his furnishing bail and surety bonds to the satisfaction of Judge, Special Court/Additional Sessions Judge concerned at Tarn Taran. He shall surrender before the trial Court on 28.02.2018 by 4:00 P.M. sharp and further shall also appear before the learned trial Court on the next date so fixed there i.e. on 01.02.2018.

At this stage, after signatures on the order passed in CRM-M46965 of 2017 as regard grant of interim bail to the petitioner Sukhbir Singh, it is brought to my notice that inadvertently the place of Judge, Special Court/Additional Sessions Judge where the bail and surety bonds are to be furnished by the petitioner, has been got mentioned as Tarn Taran instead of Amritsar. To that extent, order ibid is rectified and the said place be read as Amritsar instead of Tarn Taran.

This order be read as part of order under reference ( passed in CRM-M-46965 of 2017 dated 24.01.2018) and be uploaded again accordingly.
