Santosh Rani v. State Of Punjab And ORS
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-46974 of 2017 Date of Decision: 11.12.2017 Santosh Rani
...Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab and others ....Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAMENDRA JAIN Present: - Ms. Rahish Pahwa, Advocate, for the petitioner. RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been made for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner with a direction to respondents No.2 to 3 not to harass, humiliate and interfere in the life of petitioner and her family members at the instance of respondents No.4 to 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the purpose would be achieved if respondent No.2 - Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, is directed to look into representation dated 09.11.2017 (Annexure P-1) moved by the petitioner, in a time-bound manner.
Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and after perusing the paper-book, but without commenting on merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, to look into the matter personally as it is an atrocity done to a hapless woman by her neighbours as the petitioner belongs to a Scheduled Caste category. In case respondent No.2 finds any congnizable or non-cognizable offence against respondents No.4 to 6, take them to task. Needful shall be done after hearing the petitioner by passing a speaking order on the representation dated 09.11.2017 (Annexure P-1) moved by the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
