ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in FIR No.72 dated 10.05.2020 registered under Section 61/78 of the Punjab Excise Act 1914, Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Sections 188 and 269 of IPC, Police Station Urban Estate, District Patiala.

Learned State counsel under instructions from ASI Hardeep Singh states that pursuant to order dated 18.08.2020 passed by this Court, the ownership of the vehicle in question was got verified by IO. It turns out that the petitioner is the owner of the offending vehicle from which a huge quantity of illicit liquor contained in 200 boxes (brand named Crazy Romeo) was recovered by the Excise Officials.

Learned State counsel contends that the petitioner is suspected of his involvement of illegal modus operandi of regular smuggling of illicit liquor in violation of Section 61/78 of Punjab Excise Act read with Section 51 of the SONU 2020.09.02 08:36 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Disaster Management Act as also offence under Section 188 read with Section 269 of IPC.

In the premise, this Court is of the opinion that the petitioner is not entitled to any concession of anticipatory bail under Section 438 Cr.P.C. Dismissed.
