RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to the petitioners in a case arising from FIR No.66 dated 06.05.2018 registered under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Police Station Pillu Khera, Jind.

According to the prosecution, on 06.05.2018 petitioners were apprehended in conscious possession of 2 kgs 950 grams of charas/cannabis.

Learned counsel for the petitioners inter alia contends that petitioners have falsely been implicated in the aforesaid FIR. They are in custody since 06.05.2018. Conclusion of trial may take a sufficient long time. No useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioners in jail any more.

On the other hand, learned State counsel vehemently opposed RAVINDER SINGH 2019.03.08 10:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Considering overall facts and circumstances, but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed.
