(ORAL) Case is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No. 4 and 8.

Status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib, District Fatehgarh Sahib dated 2.12.2020 has been filed through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners No. 1 and 5 have moved the representation dated 04.8.2020 (Annexure P-5) to respondent No. 2 but till date no action has been taken. In the status report, it has been mentioned that no complaint has been filed by the petitioners against the private respondents till date.
