By way of filing the present civil writ petition, under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners - Naresh Kumar and 9 others, against respondents i.e. State of Punjab through Principal Secretary, Local Bodies, Punjab, Municipal Bhawan, Chandigarh; Director, Local Bodies, Government of Punjab, Municipal Bhawan, Chandigarh; Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana through its Commissioner and Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd.,

CWP No. 13031 of 2020 -2Patiala, through its Chairman, prayer is for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 1 and 2 to pay conveyance allowance w.e.f. 1.1.1986 i.e. the date petitioners were designated as Assistant Linemen on pattern of PSEB/PSPCL, adopted by respondents and approved by respondent-Municipal Corporation, vide Resolution No. 167 dated 29.4.1999 and Resolution No. 328 dated 24.6.2016, and then to pay arrears with interest @ 12% till the date of realization of the payment.

According to the petitioners, they had represented to the respondents several times before filing of the petition, but no action has been taken for redressal of their grievances. Notice of motion.

Ms. Anju Arora, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, has appeared on behalf of respondents No. 1 and 2 and accepted notice. She has submitted that respondents are ready and willing to look into the grievances of the petitioner on administrative side. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the official respondents to consider their grievances within a fixed time frame and writ petition be disposed of in those terms. Keeping in view such request of learned counsel for the petitioners, the response given by learned counsel appearing for the respondents and to avoid unnecessary litigation between the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of directing official respondents No. 1 and 2, to look into the grievances of the petitioners as

CWP No. 13031 of 2020 -3detailed in the present writ petition, which alongwith Annexures be treated as representation and if some action is required to be taken in the matter, then the needful be done within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. It is clarified that this order is being passed without touching merits of the case and in case as a result of decision taken by respondents No. 1 and 2 on the representation, the petitioners still feel dissatisfied, then they may take recourse to the legal remedy, in accordance with law.
