ARUN PALLI, J (Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, in essence, the limited grievance of the petitioner is that the appeal filed by him, in terms of clause 14 of the Punjab Foodgrains Transportation Policy- 2023 (P-1), is pending since 01.05.2024. However, the matter being time sensitive and, for it is not being taken up by the First Appellate Authority, petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court. Thus, it is urged that the First Appellate Authority be required to hear and decide the appeal within a specified time. Served with the advance copy of the petition, Mr. Vipin Pal Yadav, learned Additional Advocate General, Punjab, is present in Court. At the outset, he, on instructions, submits that let the petitioner appear before the First Appellate Authority on 20.05.2024 at 11:00 AM.

Whereupon, the appeal preferred by him shall be taken up, and every possible endeavour shall be made to decide the same on the said date itself. However, he submits that if for any plausible reason, it is not feasible to decide the matter on the appointed date then it shall be decided maximum within a period of one week therefrom, by passing necessary orders, in accordance with law. That being so, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same be disposed of, in terms of the statement made by learned State counsel. The petition is accordingly disposed of, in terms of the statements made by learned counsel for the parties. This Court is sanguine that the authorities shall look into the DEEPAK KUMAR 2024.05.
