Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to release the amount of interest on delayed payment of service-cum-retirement benefits of deceased husband of petitioner @ 18% per annum, in view of Full Bench judgment passed by this Court in A.S. Randhawa Vs. State of Punjab, 1997 (3) SCT 468 and in view of Government Instructions dated 07.08.2014 (Annexure P-3). Further a writ of certiorari has been sought, for quashing the impugned Speaking Order dated 14.08.2025 (Annexure P-2). Another prayer has been made to direct the official respondents to initiate the enquiry with regard to the averments made by the petitioner in the petition during the pendency of writ petition. Learned counsel for respondent No.3, at the outset, submits that the grievance raised by the petitioner in the present petitioner has been substantially redressed. The petitioner has sought interest on account of the delayed payments, which has already been released to her @ 6% per annum.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, in response thereto, is not in a position to controvert the statement made by learned counsel for respondent No.3.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of having been rendered infructuous.
