Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to fix the pay/payscale/grade pay of the petitioners - Clerks, under the Finance Circular No.24/2021 dated 01.12.2021 (Annexure P-4), on the implementation of 6th Punjab Pay Commission vide Finance Circular No.12/2021 dated 17.11.2021 (Annexure P-3), on parity with similarly situated employes with respondent No.2 - Corporation with the pay slip (Annexure P-6). Further prayer has been made to issue directions to the respondents to refix the pay of the petitioners and pay the arrears of refix pay along with 18% interest from due date till actual realization. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the very outset, confines his prayer for deciding representation dated 10.01.2024 (Annexure P-7). Mr. Rajesh Sehgal, Addl. A.G., Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.1 while Mr. Gagneshwar Walia, Advocate, has accepted notice on behalf of respondent No.2 and have no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners. 5.
I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2, to decide representation dated 10.01.2024 (Annexure P-7), expeditiously submitted by the petitioners by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
