In the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, at Chandigarh Civil Writ Petition No. 12489 of 2020 Date of Decision: 21.08.2020 Amrik Kaur, Sarpanch ... Petitioner(s)

Versus

State of Punjab and Others ... Respondent(s) CORAM: Hon'ble Mr. Justice Anil Kshetarpal.

Present:

Mr. Vikram Preet Arora, Advocate for the petitioner.

Mr. Ayush Sarna, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab for the respondents.

Anil Kshetarpal, J.

The writ petitioner has filed the present writ petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue directions to respondent No.4 to decide his representation/application dated 07.03.2020.

The writ petitioner is an elected Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat of village Roarwala, Block Attari, Tehsil and Distt Amritsar. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that certain Panches are not co-operating and rather creating hindrance in the working of the Gram Panchayat. In the considered view of this Court, the writ petitioner has an equal efficacious alternative remedy of filing an application before the concerned authorities under the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. In view thereof, the writ petitioner is relegated to the alternative remedy. DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2020.08.24 10:01 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Civil Writ Petition No. 12489 of 2020 With the observations made above, the present writ petition is disposed of.
